NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS) expresses its profound sorrow at the passing of Luís Bettencourt Moniz, a distinguished alumnus of the institution, where he completed both a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics and Information Management and a Master’s Degree in Information Management.

Throughout his journey, he maintained a close connection with our academic community, having served as President of the Institute Council and as President of the Board of the NOVA IMS Alumni Association from 2018 to 2023.

Alongside his involvement with NOVA IMS, he built a distinguished career in higher education and across the business and professional association sectors. He was particularly recognised for his work as a lecturer in Data Science and Marketing and as Vice-President of the Data Science Portuguese Association (DSPA).

NOVA IMS extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the wider community of alumni and colleagues at this time of mourning.
