We are proud to announce that our Campus has become more environmentally sustainable and eco-friendly! In an effort to improve accessibility to the campus, we have installed new directional signs, as well as a new dockstation equipped with tools for the maintenance of your bike.
In the campus courtyard we have new plants and flowers, improved seating options, and eco-friendly recycling bin's, all for a cleaner and greener future!
With the incorporation of new features, we have taken a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint and promoting sustainability on Campus.

The ISO 9001 standard helps organizations improve their performance by focusing on meeting the needs and expectations of stakeholders. This approach emphasizes the importance of allocating resources to ensure the proper implementation of the management system.
We are proud to announce that after an audit conducted in November of 2022, we were able to renew our NP EN ISO 9001:2015 certification.
We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of all of those who played a role in this accomplishment and who remain committed to maintaining NOVA IMS's ongoing success.
Between January 31st and February 9th, a series of sessions were conducted for the G.R.O.W. program, an initiative designed to help individuals by clarifying their professional objectives and preparing them for a successful job search.
The program was divided into four sessions, namely: "Self-awareness & professional goals"; "Setting up for success"; "Job interview" and, lastly, "Personal pitch". Each session had specific goals and included both practical and theoretical elements.
The G.R.O.W. program proved to be a valuable resource for those seeking to optimize their job search process and achieve success in their professional endeavors!
On February 2nd, the election of the new governing bodies of the NOVA IMS’ Alumni Association was held. The members were elected in a General Constituent Assembly for a four-year term. NOVA IMS wishes the new Board a lot of success in this journey!
On February 8th we welcomed the new Postgraduate students in a session where they had the chance to meet our Dean, the Programs' Coordinators, Colleagues, Faculty and Staff members of NOVA IMS. During the session, held at the Rectory of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, the students received relevant information for their upcoming academic path.
After the general session, each group of students enjoyed a short meeting with their colleagues and their Program’s Coordinator as well as a networking cocktail.
NOVA IMS and Mind Over Data announced a technical and scientific cooperation protocol with the objective of promoting professional opportunities for students and for research and development activities.
Under this five-year partnership, Mind Over Data will present an annual award of €1500 to the top-performing student of the course 'Marketing Engineering and Analytics', a curricular unit which is part of the Master's in Data-Driven Marketing, and of the Post-Graduations in Data Science for Marketing, Digital Marketing and Analytics, Marketing Intelligence and Marketing Research and CRM.
A Round Table discussion with Data Scientists, organized by the NOVA IMS Alumni, was held on February 9th at the Noble Hall of Colégio Almada Negreiros. The panel was composed by Andreia Nunes (Senior Data Scientist at Roche | HabberTec), Gustavo Fonseca (Data Scientist at DareData Engineering) and Jorge Abreu (Expert Data Scientist at Ageas), and the debate was moderated by Marta Sousa, a member of the Alumni.
The objective of the event was to offer mentees valuable insights into the diverse roles of data scientists across various companies. The second part of the session was dedicated to a wrap up of the mentoring program, where mentors and mentees shared their experiences and gave feedback for future editions.
The mentoring program was then followed by a networking cocktail.
On February 10th, we received the students who chose NOVA IMS as their destiny for the Erasmus program. To welcome them NOVA IMS prepared a series of activities, including a welcome session in the INE Auditorium, a lunch and a tour through the campus. After their time in the campus, the students went on a walking tour of Lisbon and discovered some of the city's traditions!
After the devastating earthquakes that impacted Turkey and Syria, NOVA IMS and the NOVA IMS Student's Union issued an appeal to the entire community to help the victims. A campaign was initiated to gather essential items for providing humanitarian aid. On February 15th, the collected goods were delivered to the Turkish Embassy.

The event Master Talks was organized by the NOVA IMS Student's Union, with the support of NOVA IMS and the NOVA IMS’ Alumni Association, and took place on February 23rd. It was a unique opportunity to hear from the Master's Students and the Alumni, as they shared their experiences, insights, and tips for success. The session was designed to inspire and motivate, as well as to provide a chance for Students, Alumni, and industry professionals to network.
During the breakout sessions, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the Master Programs and clarify their doubts.
The session was followed by a cocktail and networking event, which also presented as an excellent chance for the participants to connect with each other.
The "Data with Purpose Summit" is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for March 16th and 17th as we bring together experts across various industries to explore the ways in which data can be leveraged to create a positive impact in the world.
