Conference "Digital Analytics for Hospitality and Tourism by TIA | PRR"
At the "Digital Analytics for Hospitality & Tourism by TIA | PRR" conference held on January 10th at NOVA IMS, the issue of a shortage of professionals with both data science and marketing skills was a hot topic of discussion. To address this shortage, NOVA IMS has strengthened its educational offerings, particularly through the TIA - Tourism International Academy (TIA|PRR) Project.
The conference also emphasized the crucial role of digital transformation and analytical skills in tackling the sustainability challenges faced by Portugal's tourism and hospitality industry.
New partnership with WEBASTO
WEBASTO and NOVA IMS have joined forces in a technical-scientific cooperation protocol aimed at bridging the gap between academia and the business world.
WEBASTO is a leading German company known for its roofing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for vehicles. The company boasts innovative technology and a track record of delivering customized solutions to meet customer needs.
The protocol will offer professional opportunities for NOVA IMS students in the field of Information Systems and Technologies.
Visit of Secretary of State for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization at NOVA Cidade - Urban Analytics Lab
On January 16th, NOVA IMS welcomed a visit from the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization, Mario Filipe Campolargo, who was accompanied by the Dean, Professor Miguel de Castro Neto.
The purpose of the visit was for the Secretary of State to gain insights into the smart and sustainable city projects developed by NOVA Cidade - Urban Analytics Lab.
During the visit, Professor Miguel de Castro Neto presented NOVA IMS and its areas of focus in education, research, and value creation.
The visit was a great opportunity to showcase the innovative work being done at NOVA IMS and to highlight the important role the institution plays in shaping the future of smart and sustainable cities.
1st NOVA IMS Alumni Dinner
On January 27th, the first Alumni Networking Dinner was held, providing an excellent platform for alumni to connect with other graduates from diverse industries and sectors.
The dinner allowed Alumni to share their professional experiences, discuss future business prospects, and strengthen the NOVA IMS Alumni community.

- A research developed by Professor Diego Costa Pinto, Director of NOVA Marketing Analytics Lab, with the support of Lab managers, Ana Rita Gonçalves and Rafael Wagner, was highlighted in the cover of Marketeer magazine - anniversary edition!
- Professor Fernando Bação gave an interview to Jornal de Negócios about the advances brought by the new artificial intelligence application.
