Mission

Objectives

  • Embrace the challenge of smart cities as a model capable of creating a favorable environment for more effective and efficient governance, taking advantage of the city as a platform and data science to change the paradigm of planning and management of urban spaces;
  • Promote a more active participation of citizens, based on the use of information and communication technologies and taking advantage of advanced analytical capabilities;
  • Achieve sustainable urban development with economic, social, and environmental benefits.

Portugal Blue Digital Hub (PBDH)

The Portugal Blue Digital Hub (PBDH) aims to promote the digital and environmental transition, stimulate entrepreneurship, develop new solutions based on Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Big Data solutions, support the testing and demonstration of new solutions, promote the attraction of foreign investment and promote digital skills training in the Blue Economy sector.

Led by Fórum Oceano, the PBDH brings together a consortium of 17 organizations, complemented by a supplier club of more than 30 organizations. The hub focuses on the use of AI-based technologies to digitize, decarbonize and ‘circularize’ processes and business models. Through its “Bluetech Testing Network”, PBDH connects a variety of ready-to-use digital and testing services to create an innovation ecosystem that promotes the twin transition (digital and environmental) of SMEs and public sector organizations in the Portuguese Blue Economy.
