Rankings, Accreditations and Certifications

NOVA IMS is the School of Information Management and Data Science of the Nova University of Lisbon. This School was founded in 1989 as a response to the shortage of senior managers specializing in information management, and to the growing need for the use of information technology.

Today NOVA IMS provides education at the highest level to more than 3.600 students including undergraduates, post-graduates, masters and PhD degree students.

AE3S

NOVA IMS' degree programs are accredited by A3ES (Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education).
NOVA Institutional Evaluation Report submitted to the A3ES.
AACSB Accredited

The double degree master program in Information Systems Management is developed in partnership with the University of Ljubljana, which is accredited by AACSB ( the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).
ABET

The NOVA IMS' Information Systems Bachelor Program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET. This is the 1^st Bachelor Degree in Europe accredited in Information Systems by ABET, a North American accrediting agency, recognized as the worldwide leader in assuring quality and stimulating innovation in applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technologies.
Eduniversal

Ten of NOVA IMS' Master and Postgraduate Programs were ranked by Eduniversal an international agency that publishes annual rankings of the best Masters and MBA programs in the world, in the worldwide TOP of Best Masters 2024 ranking in their categories.
EMOS

The Master/Postgraduate Program in Statistical Systems obtained the EMOS (European Master in Official Statistics) accreditation, by the European Statistical System (ESS).
Erasmus Mundus Program

The master degree program in Geospatial Technologies is part of the European Commission's Erasmus Mundus program, and it has been selected as one of the best European master programs
USGIF

NOVA IMS is the 1^st university outside the USA to obtain the GEOINT (Geospatial Intelligence) accreditation by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF). The USGIF is the only global organization dedicated promoting professional practice of Geospatial Intelligence and building a community of interest across the industry, academia, the Public Administration and professional organizations.
iSchools

NOVA IMS was the first institute of the Iberian Peninsula joining iSchools, international organization that brings together the leading universities in research and teaching of information science.
NP EN ISO 9001:2015

The Quality Management System adopted the provisions of the norm NP EN ISO 9001:2015 and aims to organize and systematize the activities of NOVA IMS. The Quality Management System has as its scope: "Creation, development and implementation of degrees and non-degree awarding programs".
UNIGIS PT

NOVA IMS is accredited as a member of UNIGIS, an international network that gathers the best schools in Geographic Information Systems.
Celonis

NOVA IMS was recognized by Celonis, a world leader in Process Mining, as an Academic Center of Excellence, a prestigious recognition that distinguishes excellence processes in the academic field. Being internationally recognized as the leading global centers for applied education, curriculum development and research in Process Mining, the Celonis Academic Centers of Excellence demonstrate leadership in the community and education of future Process Mining experts. Along with the London School of Economics, Central Michigan University, Arizona State University and 10 other universities, NOVA IMS was selected from a rigorous pool of applicants representing the top 14 schools among the more than 500 that are part of the Celonis community.
