The Geo Informatics and Analytics field focuses on the study and application of techniques for the analysis, modeling and management of geospatial data, which are fundamental to creating innovative and technological solutions in response to global challenges.
This area combines geospatial technologies with data science to transform large volumes of data into strategic insights. As an interdisciplinary field, it can be applied in various sectors, such as urban planning, security, the environment and logistics.
NOVA IMS' training offer in this area is divided into the following programs:
- Geospatial Data Science (b-learning and e-learning formats): Available as a postgraduate and as a master's, the program focuses on the analysis, modeling, and geovisualization of large volumes of geospatial data, and prepares professionals to apply artificial intelligence, programming, and data mining to geospatial projects.
- Geographic Information Systems and Science (b-learning and e-learning formats): Available as a postgraduate and as a master's, the program trains professionals in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), using spatial data analysis and modeling techniques to solve geographic, demographic, and environmental problems.
- Master's Degree Program in Geospatial Technologies (Erasmus Mundus): Recognized by the European Commission as one of the best master's programs in Europe, and taught in partnership with the University of Münster (Germany) and the Universitat Jaume I (Spain), the master's program prepares professionals to develop computational solutions to spatial challenges, by combining geospatial technologies, geographic information (GI), and data analysis.
- Postgraduation Program in Geospatial Intelligence: With a focus on innovative solutions to global security and defense challenges, this course trains professionals to use techniques such as image processing, remote sensing and geospatial intelligence.
