Vasco Pedro is the co-founder and CEO of Unbabel, a company that combines artificial intelligence with human post-editing to eliminate language barriers on a global scale. He holds a PhD in Language Technologies from Carnegie Mellon University and has dedicated his career to making communication truly universal.

Passionate about innovation, he founded Unbabel during the final semester of his PhD — a defining moment where he balanced academic demands with entrepreneurial drive.

Under his leadership, Unbabel has expanded internationally, opening offices in Pittsburgh, New York, and Singapore, in addition to its headquarters in Lisbon and San Francisco.
