Callie Wentling is the founder of Rede Rua, a technology company changing how communities access and interact with local information. With a background in Smart Sustainable Cities and Geographic Information Systems – and experience at NOVA Cidade Urban Analytics Lab at NOVA IMS – she created an innovative platform that links news content with its spatial and temporal context, making it easier for citizens to discover and act on local information.

Rede Rua’s main product, Rua News, is currently being piloted with Portuguese news organizations to help reach readers where they are. It’s complemented by Rua Map, a tool that helps individuals locate useful information about their communities. Callie is growing the venture through initiatives like NOVA impACT! Challenges, Unicorn Factory Lisbon, and Boutique Impact. She believes in the potential of geographic data to boost civic engagement and enable positive urban transformation.
