On June 27th, the 24th International Meeting of Investor Relations and Capital Markets took place at NOVA IMS.

The conference featured Panel 6 - Global Trends for Digital Investor Relations, discussing the latest global trends. Renowned experts shared valuable insights on the challenges faced by finance professionals in the digital world while providing innovative strategies to enhance investor communication, stay updated on industry best practices, and drive financial success for your organization.

The conference was conducted in Portuguese.

Isabel Ucha

Chief Executive Officer at Euronext Lisbon

Isabel Rute Ucha da Silva is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Euronext Lisbon, the company that manages the Portuguese Stock Exchange, and is also a Director of Euronext N.V., a multinational group that includes several European stock exchanges. Isabel Rute Ucha da Silva has a degree in Economics from Universidade Católica, a Masters Degree in Economics from Universidade Nova, and a Master Degree in Finance from London Business School. Professionally, and among other activities, she was Advisor for Economic Affairs to the Prime Minister for 4 years, managed the Issues and Markets Center of the Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency - IGCP, worked at the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), and was an executive partner of a consulting firm for about 7 years. Simultaneously, she has accumulated teaching functions at the Catholic University teaching various programs in economics and finance (Economics, Corporate Finance, Economics of Finance, Economics of Regulation, European Economics, Portuguese Economy, Corporate Governance).

Jorge Bravo

Professor and Director of the Data Science course at NOVA IMS

Jorge Miguel Bravo is Associate Professor of Economics & Finance at NOVA IMS and Invited Professor at Université Paris-Dauphine PSL in Paris, France and at NOVA FCT. He holds a PhD and a BSc in Economics from the University of Évora and a MSc in Monetary in Financial Economics from ISEG Technical University of Lisbon. He is Director of the Postgraduate Programs in Financial Markets and Risks and in Data Science for Finance and of the MSc Program in Statistics and Information Management. He is an Integrated Member of research centers MagIC (NOVA IMS research and development center), BRU-ISCTE-IUL and CEFAGE-UE, and an integrated member of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) Pensions Institute Scientific Experts Forum in Madrid, Spain. He was internationally recognized as a leading top scientist by integrating the World's Top 2% Scientists List in 2021 as published by the University of Stanford, USA. His work is published in prestigious academic journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, Expert Systems with Applications, Applied Soft Computing, Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, Journal of Pension Economics and Finance; Risk Management, Risks, Statistical Journal of the IAOS, Journal of Finance and Economics, International Journal of Applied Decision Sciences, CESifo DICE Report - Journal for Institutional Comparisons, MIT Press and World Bank books. He works as scientific consultant for national & international public (SOCIEUX+ European Union, Statistics Portugal, Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Labour & Social Security) and private institutions (Insurance companies, Pension Funds Association, Social Benefits Issuers Association) on research topics such as Longevity risk management, Ageing & social protection systems reform and sustainability, retirement & saving schemes, credit risk management. He integrated as an external member the Interministerial Commission for the Reform of the Social Security System in Portugal.

David Duarte

Professor of Data Science course at NOVA IMS

David Mendes Duarte is currently Investment Director at 3CommaCapital, a digital asset manager and VC in Web3, and lecturer at NovaIMS University, where he teaches Computational Finance, Financial Derivatives, Algorithmic Trading and Decentralized Finance. His professional background includes Country Lead for Amber Group a crypto-active hedge fund, and before that he was coordinator of the Trading Room Core of IGCP, E.P.E. - Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency of Portugal for 10 years, where he was responsible for the market risk management of the consolidated debt portfolio of the Portuguese Republic and the management of the derivatives portfolios of public companies. He started his professional career in 2003, as a fixed income derivatives trader in the trading room of MillenniumBCP Investimento. In the end of 2007 he moved to BPN to develop the interest rate activity and in 2010 he became responsible for the Capital Markets Unit where he was involved in the preparation and execution of the sale of the financial assets on the balance sheet during the reprivatization process. He has a degree in Economics from ISEG-UTL and a Master in Financial Markets and Derivatives from London Metropolitan University (formerly London Guildhall University).

Rodrigo Maia

Global Consultant - IBRI and Abrasca

Rodrigo Maia represents Abrasca and IBRI before capital markets bodies in international jurisdictions and projects related to digital innovation in capital markets, blockchain, cybersecurity and data science. He worked for almost 14 years as Investor Relations Officer at Gerdau (B3:GGBR), with the last position as General Manager reporting directly to the CFO. He supported the Investor Relations Department in maintaining companies registered as publicly traded companies with the regulatory bodies of the capital markets: Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM and SEC), Stock Exchange (B3 and NYSE), in addition to providing services to analysts, global institutional investors in 30 countries and individual investors. His professional experience also consists of 11 years of experience in Investor Relations and Information Technology for Braskem (B3:BRKM) and CSN (B3:CSNA3). Rodrigo holds an MBA with specialization in finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo and a BS in Computer Science from UniFOA. He is currently pursuing his master's and post-graduate studies in data science at Nova IMS Lisbon, Portugal. Rodrigo Maia was CEO of IBRI in 2022.
