Half of the Portuguese feel anxious about personal finances

Detalhe da Notícia

A recent study by Doutor Finanças, in partnership with Laicos and scientifically endorsed by NOVA IMS and the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Lisbon, reveals significant financial anxiety among Portuguese citizens. According to the results, 64% of the population has low financial literacy, and nearly half lack an emergency fund to cover three months of expenses.

This financial insecurity leads to increased stress and reduced well-being, especially among women with lower incomes and education levels. The study also shows that a quarter of Portuguese struggle to meet financial obligations, highlighting broader issues of financial instability and over-indebtedness in the country.
