Currently, labor law establishes that proof of a worker's illness is made by a declaration from a hospital establishment, health center, or medical certificate, which, according to statistics, results in about six hundred thousand medical acts per year. It should be noted that in 2018, according to the work of NOVA-IMS, on average, Portuguese workers missed almost six days (5.9) of work.
