The return to the meeting place

The return to the meeting place

Detalhe da Notícia

So often silent and almost invisible, the construction of urban intelligence finds in the public space a privileged stage for experimentation and application on the ground of all the advantages and all the challenges that technology offers to cities. Miguel de Castro Neto, dean of NOVA IMS - Information Management School and coordinator of NOVA Cidadeb - Urban Analytics Lab, explains that the use of technology and analytics "by those who manage cities is increasingly unavoidable in the management of spaces and day-to-day problems," because "it allows to build scenarios and then validate them, in order to understand the impact of different options, ensuring that a particular intervention is the best for a place, knowing that this may be completely different for another place just 500 meters away."
