The perception of users regarding the evolution of the National Health Service (SNS) in the last decade is positive, but this idea is not matched by their judgment on waiting times for doctors’ appointments, medical exams, and emergency services, which they consider to have worsened, indicates the Sustainable Health Index developed by the Nova Information Management School. One in ten Portuguese did not buy some of the medicines prescribed by their doctor last year due to the cost, a figure that increased compared to the previous year, according to the same study presented on Tuesday.
