On May 18^th, the Guarda District Delegation of the Order of Engineers held an engaging debate dedicated to Artificial Intelligence. The event was designed to provide a comprehensive introduction of the topic to fellow engineers and the public, exploring how artificial intelligence tools, such as ChatGPT, can revolutionize the way we work.

The debate was attended by NOVA IMS’ Professor Vítor Santos, who shared his knowledge and helped anticipate the impact of AI in the future of society.

The impact of these tools on the engineering profession and on other activities in society was discussed, and there was also a reflection regarding the professions that may be at risk of disappearing. In addition to theoretical discussions, participants also had the opportunity to try out some of the tools under debate.
