Detalhe da Notícia
Professor Mauro Castelli, from NOVA IMS, was awarded the international 'Best Paper Award' from J. Imaging 2022 for his research on the diagnosis of brain tumors using the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques.
This research focuses on evaluating and comparing various AI techniques used in the diagnosis of brain tumors. In this study, the professor explores the use of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Capsule Networks (CapsNets), and Vision Transformers (ViT) for the classification and segmentation of brain tumors.
Mauro Castelli provides an analytical view of these technologies, assessing their impact and the main challenges in their implementation. At the same time, he also offers some insights into the path forward in classifying these types of tumors, suggesting strategies to overcome the challenges of the techniques currently in use.
