Tiago Oliveira, Full Professor at NOVA IMS, has been elected as the President of the institution's Scientific Council for the 2023-2027 quadrennium, taking on the responsibility of leading the scientific activities at NOVA IMS.
His strong academic background, complemented by his research interests, highlights a dedicated journey towards advancing knowledge and fostering innovation in the field of Information Systems
With a Ph.D. in Information Management from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a Master's degree in Statistics and Information Management from NOVA IMS, Tiago Oliveira has been recognized as a part of the prestigious "Highly Cited Researchers" list in 2021 and 2022. This initiative, by Clarivate Analytics, acknowledges the most influential scientists worldwide, ranking in the top 1% by the number of citations per field in the Web of Science.
His academic path also encompasses a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Instituto Superior Técnico. This diverse skill set has enabled him to explore the antecedents of innovation adoption in Information Technologies throughout his career, focusing on areas such as sustainable technologies, e-health, e-banking, m-banking, m-payments, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and cloud computing. He has also addressed social issues, such as the digital divide. Notably, his significant contribution to Information Systems research includes the development of frameworks to enhance cross-border e-commerce within the European Union in collaboration with the European Commission.
