Ricardo Baptista Leite

Ricardo Baptista Leite is a medical doctor, university professor and a leading global health advocate. He is the CEO of HealthAI, a Geneva-based nonprofit promoting responsible and regulated AI in health, working with the World Health Organization and other global partners.

Trained in infectious diseases, he chairs the NOVA Center for Global Health at NOVA IMS, the Global Health Policy Lab (a Harvard–Charité initiative), and the UNITE Parliamentarians Network, a global community of policymakers from over 110 countries.

A former four-term Member of Parliament in Portugal, he also served as Deputy Mayor of Cascais and is currently a city councillor in Sintra. In 2024, he was selected as an Obama Leader by the Obama Foundation. He has volunteered as a doctor during the COVID-19 pandemic in Portugal and in a humanitarian mission in Ukraine.
