Hi! Please check the September's agenda in review!
It is with great enthusiasm that we begin the new 2023/2024 school year.
We wish all of our students an incredible academic year, remembering that our services are always available to support you in any way you need!
Remember some of the best moments of the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Welcome Day, on September 2nd, in the videos below.
It's the start of an exciting journey for our new undergraduate students in Data Science, Information Management and Information Systems. Find out the grades of the latest candidates admitted through the National Access Contest:
On September 8th, ANALYTICA Fest took place at the Campolide Campus: the first academic festival of the year! Organized by NOVA IMS Students' Union in partnership with NOVA IMS, this night of celebration featured the participation of several artists, including professors, staff and students of NOVA IMS at IMS Got Talent, TUIMS, the band Falso Nove, the DJ's A Ressaca and Mishlawi.

On September 20th, the NOVA University of Lisbon's Rectory hosted a ceremony to award Sports Merit Scholarships to student-athletes. Of the honored students who have achieved excellent results, both nationally and internationally, we would like to highlight the 3 winners representing NOVA IMS: Guilherme Castel-Branco (Volleyball), José Fernandes (Volleyball) and João Chang (Badminton). We congratulate all the athletes and wish them an excellent academic and sporting year.
On September 6th, our Dean Miguel de Castro Neto, Board Members and our International Development Coordinator, welcomed a delegation of Deans from the University of São Paulo for a meeting to present NOVA IMS, our academic offer, research and third mission. We strengthened partnerships and exchanged knowledge and hope that this meeting will encourage the development of new and inspiring partnerships.
On September 21st, we celebrated the NOVA IMS ALUMNI Anniversary, with several testimonies, sharing of experiences and a round table where relevant topics were discussed. We had the presence of our Dean Miguel de Castro Neto; Ivo Bernardo, the president of the Alumni; Filipe Brígida, co-founder of 3cket (a start-up that revolutionized event management systems); Inês Palma, the president of the Students' Union, among other entrepreneurs who add value to the NOVA IMS community.
We have an exciting update this year: the introduction of NOVA IMS School Cards. These cards, created with durability and state-of-the-art technologies such as RFID, NFC and MiFare, improve the experience of students, teachers and staff at the school. It will now be easier to use the printer, share contacts directly (vCard), among other features.
The NOVA IMSmart App is also available on Google Play and the App Store, allowing access to each person's visual card; students can view their print balance, have direct access to moodle and the staff can also see their attendance and scheduled vacations. These and other features are now available to you!
Another big news in our facilities: LED screens were installed in the Edifício Manuel Vilares and Colégio Almada Negreiros. On these screens you will be able to find dynamic content, from the announcement of upcoming events taking place in the community, information about the classrooms, exam dates, among other information that will be useful to you.
On October 2nd, we invite you to the premiere of NOVA IMS' OPEN AIR CINEMA!
Get ready for a unique cinematic experience and bring your best company. The film being shown will be "Minority Report" and don't worry about the popcorn because you have it for free. At the end of the film, there will be a debate to share the ideas and highlights of the film. Don't miss this event, at 8 p.m. at NOVA IMS' Courtyard.

On October 27th, expand your professional network and establish valuable connections with NOVA IMS alumni, in an unforgettable night of networking during a dinner that will take place at Pizzaria Luzzo, in Santos, at 9 p.m.

The ALUMNI Association has launched a mentoring program tailored to match students with experienced former students. This program aims to strengthen the NOVA IMS community even further and give students the ability to understand the different roles within the data universe. Stay tuned for further updates.
The JOULE Project is producing its first Conference on Data Journalism: Opportunities and Challenges, on November 10th, and it will take place at NOVA IMS. The participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts about different aspects of data-related subjects. There will also be a designated area with a poster exhibition, where the students that submited their posters will be able to present their research.
