NOVA IMS has implemented a new system for issuing and verifying academic credentials based on blockchain technology, aligned with W3C and OpenID standards and integrated with the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) pilot.

The system allows students to store and share diplomas and certificates through a digital wallet they control, while employers can automatically and instantly verify the authenticity of qualifications. The initiative positions NOVA IMS as a pioneer in Portugal and among a small group of European institutions moving toward the operational use of similar solutions.
