The Open AI Alliance Conference took place on the 25th of May at the Rectory of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and explored the future of Artificial Intelligence, taking GPT Chat to the next level!
Throughout the event, several experts gathered to discuss the impact and the future of artificial intelligence. These discussions were divided into 3 panels, namely:
The partnership agreement between NOVA IMS and Microsoft Portugal was signed and the session was closed by Mário Campolargo, Secretary of State for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization.

NOVA IMS warmly welcomed prospective undergraduate students on May 24th for an exciting Open Day event. Participants had a fantastic opportunity to engage with current and former students, course coordinators, and representatives from the Students' Union.
Throughout the visit, students were introduced to the many compelling aspects that make NOVA IMS an outstanding choice for their future education. They had the chance to explore various labs - namely the Marketing & Analytics, Innovation and Analytics and NOVA Cidade – Urban Analytics Lab.
The event also featured a captivating performance by TUIMS, NOVA IMS' Academic musical group, and the student Lourenço Lampreia.
On May 29th, the Inauguration Ceremony of the new Governing Bodies of NOVA IMS' Students' Union took place at the INE Auditorium. The former President of the Students' Union, Constança Rodrigues, expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported the Association during the past term. The Dean of NOVA IMS, Miguel de Castro Neto, also addressed the audience, extending his wishes for success to the new members. The previous management of the Students' Union was praised for their achievements, dedication, and representation of the student community.
On May 10th, the NOVA IMS Students' Union organized the Volunteer Fair at the NOVA IMS Patio. The main objective of this event was to introduce nine volunteer associations to the entire academic community, who shared relevant information on how to make a difference in the world.
It is crucial to broaden horizons, step out of one's comfort zone, and help others. Several themes were addressed during this event, always with the aim of making an impact on people's lives through giving.
The 3rd phase of applications for Postgraduate, Master, and PhD programs for the 2023-24 academic year is open between June 16th to July 17th, 2023!

The JOULE Project is producing its first Conference on Data Journalism: Opportunities and Challenges, on November 10th, and it will take place at NOVA IMS. The participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts about different aspects of data-related subjects. In parallel, there will be a designated area with a poster exhibition, where you can present your research. Submit your poster until June 30th.
