APPLIED ECONOMICS TOPO

The NOVA Applied Economics & Analytics Lab is dedicated to applying data-driven techniques used in various areas of modern applied economics, including econometric-related (time-series forecasting, macroeconomics/microeconomics, causal inference); and thematic areas (such as quantitative science & technology studies, energy economics & sustainability, data-driven public procurement, economic complexity, and economic geography).

Mission

The mission of the NOVA Applied Economics & Analytics Lab is to apply analytical and quantitative techniques across various fields of applied economics, integrating advanced econometric approaches and studies on science, technology, energy, and sustainability. The lab focuses on uncovering the social and techno-economic dynamics as complex systems, seeking to understand the forces that shape our constantly evolving regulatory and societal landscape.
