Biography
Pedro Malta holds a PhD in Information Technologies and Systems from a public higher education institution, where his research focused on Business-IT Alignment and where Business Process Management (BPM) approaches played a significant role in his research work. He also holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Social Policy and a degree in Decision Systems Engineering. He teaches in the field of Information Systems, including Systems Analysis and other courses in the area, and supervises postgraduate and master’s students in BPM topics at NOVA IMS, where he serves as a guest professor. He also collaborates each semester with polytechnic schools, teaching mainly in the area of Information Systems.
He joined a private higher education institution in 2002, where he has since held teaching and coordination roles in undergraduate Information Systems programs and several Technological Specialization Courses. , focused on mentoring students in public schools as part of a service-based initiative for a parish council in Lisbon, Portugal. He has also worked as a trainer at several vocational training centers and collaborated with Portugal Telecom until 2000, initially with responsibilities for managing switching and transmission infrastructure devices with European operators, and later supporting managers of major clients in the development of telecommunications solutions. He began his professional career at a software company in 1990, where he held technical and business roles, as well as training responsibilities supporting the commercial management of clients.
