Karina Brotto Rebuli holds a PhD in Veterinary Sciences for Animal Health and Food Safety from the University of Turin (Italy), with a strong focus on the development and application of Artificial Intelligence to complex problems in agri-food systems. She teaches in the areas of Data Science, Machine Learning, Evolutionary Computation and Programming, with particular emphasis on practical and interdisciplinary applications. Her main research area focuses on Machine Learning, Evolutionary Artificial Intelligence and interpretable models to Precision Livestock Farming, particularly in automatic milking systems, dairy cow productivity, animal welfare and data-driven decision support. She also conducts research on Genetic Programming, multi-objective optimization, prediction intervals and model interpretability. She is the author and co-author of more than 15 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals and leading conference proceedings, including Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, Animals, SN Computer Science and GECCO. She has participated in several national and international research projects in artificial intelligence, applied data science and complex systems, fostering academic collaborations between Italy and Portugal. Her academic and professional background integrates strong training in computational and quantitative sciences with applied research and interdisciplinary collaboration, contributing to the development of trustworthy, interpretable and real-world-oriented AI solutions.
