Catarina Silva is a Data Scientist at BNP Paribas, holding a Master’s degree in Data Science and Advanced Analytics from NOVA IMS and a bachelor’s degree from ISCTE. She specializes in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing, with a primary research focus on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and predictive modeling. As part of her master’s thesis, she developed a research project focused on lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, implementing a multimodal pipeline that combined YOLOv8 and RAG modules with Gemini 2.0 and GPT-4o mini to generate personalized clinical protocols. She has also contributed to several predictive analytics projects, including hospital readmission forecasting and Airbnb data analysis.
