João Gomes is currently pursuing a Master’s in Data Science at NOVA IMS and is working on his final dissertation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Management from NOVA IMS, which he completed with an average grade of 17 out of 20, earning the Excellence Incentive Award. He also completed an Erasmus semester at FEM – University of Life Sciences in Prague and a summer internship at ABANCA Portugal as a Client Intelligence Analyst, where he worked on process automation and data analysis. His main areas of interest include statistics, econometrics, machine learning, and data science, with experience in R, Python, SQL, and Power BI. He has also completed additional training in Power BI, SAP, and Process Mining, and is actively involved in volunteering, including pro bono mathematics tutoring and activities with Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Canha.
